Huge Fire in San Francisco (Update)
Update 2:15 p.m.: News reports are confirming that the building on fire was a Luxor Cab company service garage. According to KGO, the fire caused the roof to collapse but fortunately, nobody was injured and the three-alarm fire has been mostly contained, the news station reports.
Original story 12:25 p.m.: We just got word of a blazing fire in the city's Bayview neighborhood with a plume of smoke that can be seen from all the way across the Bay.
We put in a call to Mindy Talmadge, spokeswoman for the Fire Department, to find out more after seeing a photo of the fire on Twitter. No word back yet, however, CBS News is reporting that the fire broke out at an auto body shop at 2177 Jerrold St. just before noon.
Apparently, there was some sort of explosion that "startled" Bernal Heights neighbors.
