Watch for pedestrians. Please.
It's been a tragic week for pedestrians on the streets of San Francisco.

Yesterday two more people were hit by cars in separate accidents across town. The first incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. when a cyclist was hit at Geary and Arguello. Police were unsure about the extent of the cyclist's injuries, but said the driver remained at the scene while police investigated.

A few hours later, at about 5 p.m., a man 39-year-old woman was hit while crossing the street at Bush and Leavenworth. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening head injuries, says Officer Gordon Shyy.

The driver remained at the scene while the cops questioned him/her.

Two other pedestrians were killed this week and two more injured, including 6-year-old Sophia Liu who was crossing the street in the Tenderloin with her mother and brother when an Uber driver hit the family. Syed Muzzafar, 57, was charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk. Liu was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, 86-year-old Zhen Guang Ng was walking through the Outer Mission when he was hit by a car. The driver, Giampaolo Boschetti of San Francisco, was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Recent events have been truly tragic. As a driver and a cyclist in the city I try to always be aware of those around me and assume others are not paying attention. However I have noticed lately that both drivers and cyclists/pedestrians are not paying attention as they should. At night I've seen pedestrians wearing dark colors walk on a red light when the cars had a green. In addition to cyclists not stopping when they should at dark low lit intersections. Personally I feel we ALL need to pay attention. Drivers: Always look several times especially at night and reduce speed. And cyclists/pedestrians (I'm one of you) but abiding by the rules of the road (ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT) is key. Dont jay walk or speed through intersections when signs or lights are telling you to stop. Wake up people....Common sense is really not that difficult to practice.

How many accidents happen in SF because of right-turn-on-red? I feel this is worse than texting while driving.
