Isabel Huie was killed by an accelerating car
Medical authorities this morning identified 84-year-old Isabel Huie as the woman who was killed by an accelerating car in the city's Chinatown district.

The incident happened yesterday morning, just before 11:30 a.m.; the driver, a 76-year-old woman, was in her silver sedan parked eastbound on Jackson Street when she suddenly accelerated, hitting a pole, another car, and two people, including Huie and another unidentified man, says Sgt. Eric O'Neal.

The two victims and the driver were all taken to San Francisco General Hospital; Huie, a San Francisco resident, was pronounced dead. The male victim's injuries are unknown at this time, O'Neal says.

The driver has not been arrested, according to police.

This is the second elderly pedestrian fatality in 24 hours. This morning an elderly man was killed by a Recology truck driving through the Tenderloin District. The victim has not yet been identified.
