Here's your 15-minutes of fame

Yes, burglaries will happen no matter how many bars, bolts, and barriers you put up. But what doesn't happen everyday is a burglary that's been caught on home video.

We were delighted to see these still images on Bernalwood Press' blog which shows this alleged burglar hard at work. According to the blog, a neighbor named "Daniel" grabbed these images from his home surveillance camera on Friday morning -- a few hours after his house was broken into.

Here's how "Daniel" described it to the blog:

I wanted our community to be aware of a home burglar. These photos were captured at 3:47 am Friday, Dec 13 inside my house. This guy jimmied my front lock and went in to my garage. He did not take anything, but he saw he was being filmed and left. I live on Holladay. It's that time of year when people get burglarized, so if anyone sees this guy they should phone the police.

We called the San Francisco police who confirmed that a house on the 200 block of Holladay was burglarized on Friday morning -- and that this guy seen in the video is the suspect.

"Based on initial investigation by responding officers, there appears to be forced entry into the residence," said Officer Gordon Shyy.

In any event, if you know this guy -- maybe he's your brother? -- ping the cops at 575-4444.

"Innocent until PROVEN guilty".......But I agree, the judicial system slows us as much as it protects us.
