San Francisco police this morning are looking for a woman who stole a vehicle last night that had and infant and a toddler inside it.

Sgt. Danielle Newman said police were called at about 6:08 p.m. on reports of a stolen vehicle near 22nd and Shotwell streets. The car owner got out of the vehicle and left the keys in the ignition and two kids -- a 2-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy -- in her 2007 VW Tiguan. The thief saw this crime of opportunity and hopped in the driver's side, making off with the car -- and the kids.

The car was found 30 minutes later abandoned on the 200 block of Sweeny Street, almost three miles from where it was stolen.

The kids were found safe inside the car, Newman said.

Police have not located the suspect, who is described as a thin white woman with curly, short brown hair.

Here's where the car was found:
