Traffic Sucks Pretty Much Everywhere This Morning
Updates at the bottom of the story
And here you thought getting out of bed this morning was hard -- getting to work this morning is no easier.
To put it bluntly: traffic sucks this morning, and here's why:
If you're coming from the East Bay, there's a commuter bus stalled in the westbound lane, and traffic is a nightmare.
A Sig-alert was issued this morning at about 6:50 a.m. while passengers were being transferred onto an AC Transit bus. As of 7:30 a.m., a tow truck still hadn't arrived according to press reports.
If you were lucky enough to make it to San Francisco before this Bay Bridge backup started, well don't consider yourself in the clear yet. Traffic downtown is just as miserable. We're hearing that there's a roadblock in the Financial District and cars are being diverted and buses are dropping off passengers at Bush Street.
We put in a call to SFPD to get more information on this mess and we will tell you more when we know more.
Down on the Peninsula, Caltrain is reportedly experiencing delays, too after a San Francisco-bound train broke down.
Update 9:33 a.m.: Muni Spokesman Paul Rose tells us that the F line was delayed and traffic was backed up at Market and Laguna when the line was blocked by a tow truck that had run out of fuel. The scene was cleared up by 8:30, but traffic was still bad.
