Officer Albie Esparza tells they got a call at about 7 a.m. on reports of the dangling platform on the 300 block of Clay Street. The area has been secured and an engineer is reportedly on the scene trying to fix what is obviously a Friday the 13th issue.
"No one was on the scaffolding at the time, but it's still a dangerous situation," Esparza tells us.
Battery Street is closed to southbound traffic as well as eastbound Clay Street all the way to Sansome. San Francisco Municipal Railway buses on the 1-California and 41-Union routes being diverted, according to Muni.
