This is the suspect in the Justin Valdez shooting
The Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man who was shot to death as he exited a Muni bus on Monday night as 20-year-old Justin Valdez.

Valdez was riding the M line eastbound at about 10 p.m. when it stopped at the corner of Randolph and Bright streets in Ingleside Heights. As he was getting off the train, someone shot him in the back of the head, according to police.

Police say the suspect and victim don't appear to know each other and that the attack seems random and unprovoked. The suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, fled the scene and remains at large.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old Asian male with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with a purple brim and a logo on the front. He also was wearing white-fleece hoodie jacket with grey lining and blue running shoes with white trim.

Here's surveillance video of the suspect before the shooting:

Anyone with information should call homicide detail Sgt. Gary Watts at 734-3114 or leave an anonymous tip at 575-4444.
