Teen Killed by Speeding Driver in Lower Pac Heights, Streets Are Closed

NBC Twitter pic The scene 80-year-old elderly woman was driving a Mercedes-Benz at 80 mph west on Pine Street when she plowed into a minivan stopped at a light at Gough Street just before 7 a.m. Both cars rolled over and the boy was killed. The boy's mother and sister were inside the van and were hurt.
Witnesses, including a patrol officer, saw the driver going at a high-rate of speed for several blocks before the accident. "The vehicle was going so fast, he [the officer] didn't have time to even activate his lights before the crash took place," Police Chief Greg Suhr told KTVU. The impact sent the minivan airborne.
Original Story 7:48 a.m.: San Francisco police are warning drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area near Gough and Pine this morning where there was a fatal car crash earlier.
Sgt. Danielle Newman says one person has died and there are other injuries; authorities are at the scene now helping the other victims.
"Please avoid the area," Newman says. "A large SFFD and SFPD presence is expected for most of the morning."
