Breaking Bad Fiends: Go Get Your Very Own Heisenberg Hat

Categories: Fashion

These hats are almost as popular as meth
If you just can't hang on until Sunday when the next episode of Breaking Bad airs and you need your Walter White fix even more than your meth fix, head down to Goorin Bros. where you have a chance at getting your very own Heisenberg Hat.

People who apparently didn't have to work today reportedly started lining up this morning before staff even arrived for work at Goorin Bros., the makers of the Heisenberg Hat, hoping they'll be able to purchase one of the few remaining signature black felt pork-pie hats worn by the series' smuggest outlaw, Walter White on site. The store opens at 6 p.m. where there will be a Heisenberg Hat sale, and of course, cocktails (sorry, no meth).

The San Francisco-based hat makers were asked to produce a limited number of Heisenberg Hats to kick off the final season of Breaking Bad, which picked up last month. The store produced 1,895 hats which were sold across the country for a limited time. Roughly 1,200 hats were sold, and the remainder are now being divvied up among 14 stores across the nation for one final sale.

Here's how the store describes the hat, which comes with a few other goodies:

The Heisenberg is an American made black pork pie hat crafted of the finest quality 100% wool felt from Rambouillet sheep in Texas. As seen on the nefarious Walter White, the official Breaking Bad collector's edition Heisenberg Hat and Box Set comes with an illustrated American-crafted hat box, custom butcher paper, two interchangeable hat pins -- one of the Goorin Bros. castle logo and another that reads "I am the Danger" -- and a letterpress, serial-numbered certificate of authenticity. The pork pie hat features a 1 7/8" brim, a 3 3/4" side wall, a hand tacked 19 ligne grosgrain ribbon and "Heisenberg" written inside on the hat's leather sweatband. This collector's item is of limited quantity with only 1,895 created.

According to Cecy Galvan, spokeswoman for the hat bonanza, there are some 30 Heisenberg hats for sale at the San Francisco store, located in Union Square. Tomorrow, more hats will be for sale at two stores in Los Angeles and New York City, if you have that kind of time and money to spend on airfare, etc.
