Authorities say it was 38-year-old Adam Blomquist, a San Francisco resident, who was killed Sunday night in a party bus crash in the South Bay.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Blomquist was the only passenger in the black Chevrolet Express 3500 van headed north on Interstate 280 near Portola Valley when the driver lost control, crashed into a tree south of Alpine Road and flipped over into an embankment. Blomquist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, 43-year-old Jason Quinonez, initially fled the scene of the accident, but was later found walking nearby and was taken to Stanford Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

After he was released from his doctor's care, he was reportedly placed into the care of local police who arrested him on suspicion of felony hit and run, DUI and manslaughter.

According to press reports, the converted party bus was in the process of being registered to Maximo Limo Party Bus.
