Lots of People Stabbed, Beaten, Shot Yesterday
According to police, the first incident happened at Mission and Cesar Chavez streets at about 12:45 a.m., when two men got into a spat that escalated into a physical fight. One man took out a knife and slashed the victim in the stomach. He bolted from the scene, and the victim was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
About an hour later, another man was stabbed during an incident in the Mission District.
At about 1:40 a.m., the victim was reportedly talking to a security guard on the 3000 block of 16th Street when a guy who was between 20 and 25 years old, walked up to the man, punched him, and stabbed him.
The victim ran away, and only then did he realize he had been stabbed in the back, said Officer Albie Esparza. The victim drove himself to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Another hour passed and at about 2:30 a.m., five men -- no more than 24 years old -- walked up to another guy who was waiting for his buddies in a parking lot. They reportedly beat the man unconscious before walking up Stillman Street near Third Street where they stabbed two guys.
According to police, one of the men supposedly stabbed the first victim and took his necklace; the other victim was slashed across the wrist, Esparza told reporters. Some of those injuries are considered life-threatening, police said.
At 6:58 pm, the cops were called out to 29th Avenue and Geary Boulevard on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found a victim with multiple gunshots wounds.
According to police, the victim was involved in an altercation of some sort with two other men. That dispute escalated and the two guys shot the victim and ran.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he's being treated for life-threatening injuries.
