Roderick McDonald was killed at this intersection
The San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office says it was 39-year-old Roderick McDonald who died in yesterday afternoon's traffic accident at McLaren Park

According to the San Francisco Police Department, McDonald was driving his gray Mazda minivan eastbound on John F. Shelley Drive at Mansell Street when he crashed into a tree.

A nearby witness heard the accident and found McDonald, who was later pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital.

Police said it does not appear that alcohol was involved, but they are awaiting confirmation from lab reports. A representative of the Medical Examiners Office said they do not have any further information on the victim at this time.
