Robert Guerrero Challenges Victor Ortiz Via Text Message

About a month ago, Robert Guerrero stood at the pinnacle of boxing-- in the ring, toe-to-toe with Floyd Mayweather Jr., the undefeated pound-for-pound champ.

He lost that fight, and no shame in that. But-- always the most asked question in boxing-- who to fight next?

Guerrero wants Victor Ortiz, the Oxnard, California slugger who lost to Mayweather in November 2011. Ortiz, apparently, is up for that. And Guerrero has the text messages to prove it.

On Monday, the Gilroy native posted on Twitter a screenshot of a text exchange from that day (all sic'd):

5:30 p.m., Guerrero: "Man up Vic Lets see who's Cali's best"

5:36 p.m., Ortiz:"Im up for it !"

6:15 p.m., Guerrero: "Then have Haymon call my manager it's easy to make.."

[Al Haymon is Ortiz's promoter.]

6:22 p.m., Guerrero: "Mosleys old and done u want Floyd rematch come prove it beat me I saw u under that sign man up now"

[Ortiz and Shane Mosley are currently negotiating a possible fight for later this summer.]

6:37 p.m., Ortiz: "I can do that for sure broham..."

"Here you go fans! There should be ZERO excuses," Guerrero wrote in the Tweet.

Of course, making a fight is never that easy in boxing.
