San Francisco police say they have arrested 20-year-old Derrick Hunter and a
14-year-old boy on suspicion of fatally shooting JaQuan Rice outside a Muni stop earlier this week.

On June 24 at about 1 p.m., Rice, 19, was sitting with a 17-year-old girl at the Middle Point and West Point roads Muni stop when they were shot. Both were taken to a local hospital where Rice died from a gunshot wound. The girl remains in critical condition, according to police.

San Francisco cops, as well as the gang task force, combed the scene for evidence, which led them to the arrest of Hunter and the juvenile yesterday. Both suspects were charged with murder, said Sgt. Dennis Toomer.
