Update 3:52 p.m.: The Medical Examiner's Office says it was 60-year-old Becky Lee of San Francisco who was killed yesterday evening while walking through the Sunnyside neighborhood.

Original Story 11:16 .m.: A woman in her 50's was hit by a pickup truck last night as she walked through the Sunnyside neighborhood near Balboa Park.

The Medical Examiner's Officer says they have identified the victim, but would not release her name because they have yet to notify family.

According to police, the woman was walking through a crosswalk at Judson and Edna streets just before 7 p.m. when the pickup truck rammed into her.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with head trauma; she later died at the hospital.

The driver in the pickup truck, a 42-year-old woman, wasn't arrested and remained on the scene where she cooperated with the cops, said Officer Gordon Shyy. Police will continue to investigate how the accident occurred.

Another HUGE problem in San Francisco. At least if you are IN THE CROSSWALK the automobile is at fault and makes a potential court case a lot easier, as it is though, you have my relatives thinking it is "safer" not to use the crosswalk. guh.
