Alex Peer Identified as Man Found Dead on Ocean Beach
Medical authorities identified the man who was found last week face-down on Ocean Beach as 30-year-old Alex Peer.
According to the Chronicle, Peer was a well-known night swimmer who often stripped to his boxer shorts and went for a swim in the ocean after work.

On Thursday morning, Peer's body was spotted in the surf near Judah Street. The Medical Examiner's Office is currently conducting an autopsy to determine how he died.
Peer's friend Stephanie Wilson said he was a great swimmer who loved to "get out there."
"He lived big -- he had this big loud voice and this big loud laugh, and he would fill up the room when he was there," Wilson said. "When he boxed he won a golden glove, and when he swam he swam in the Pacific Ocean at night."
Wilson told the newspaper that she became worried when he didn't show up for work on Friday; she sent him a quick text and got one back from someone saying they found Peer's phone on the beach with his clothes.
