UPDATE 11:32 A.M.

It appears the police operation underway since 3:50 a.m. this morning at a suspected marijuana grow operation in the Bayview has concluded.

Four hostages held following a suspected robbery have been freed, and a final suspect has been arrested as of about 10 a.m., the Examiner reported.

Initial reports in print and broadcast media said that a robbery of a "medical pot dispensary" in the 2100 block of Jennings Street led to several blocks closed to traffic and a hostage situation stand-off at the dispensary.

However, there are no medical marijuana dispensaries in Bayview. Reports have since changed their stories to "grow operation," and we are hearing reports from readers of a joint SFPD-DEA raid in the area.

We'll update more. Original story follows.

San Francisco police are on the scene of an attempted robbery of a medical marijuana dispensary early this morning where one of the suspects remains inside the building. Sgt. Michael Andraychak gave us very spotty information as he was on his way to the scene, located on the 2100 block of Jennings Street near Wallace Avenue. He did say two suspects have been detained. What we can tell you is that the SWAT team has been deployed and traffic over there is "heavy" as streets have been cordoned off. We'll update you when we know more about what's going on, but for now, avoid the Bayview.

Ok and????? They always have trouble there. Nothing new!

This is not listed as a permitted medical cannabis dispensary. I don't think dispensaries are even allowed in that area. Thanks to restrictive zoning laws, dispensaries are off limits in 90 to 95 percent of the city.
