Dallas Ayers Identified as Elderly Man Killed

Medical authorities say it was 77-year-old Dallas Ayers who died from his injuries during an attack last month.

According to police, Ayers was at Market and Montgomery streets at about 11 a.m. on Jan. 28 when an unknown man walked up to him and threw him to the ground. Officer Albie Esparza told us that the suspect was last seen headed down Market Street.

No Arrests have been made.

Ayers was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries last week. According to the Chron, Ayers was popular newspaper vendor in San Francisco for 30 years, most recently near the Montgomery BART station.

The attacker was described as a white man with a full beard, in his 40's; he was about 5-foot- 9, wearing a brown hoodie, blue jeans and black shoes.
