Sgt. Michael Andraychak says Dexter Oliver was found at a hotel in Oakland about 9 p.m., where he surrendered to police.
Officers from the SFPD Special Investigations Division and the U.S. Marshal's Service Task Force were tipped off to Oliver's whereabouts. Oliver was transported to San Francisco where he's been booked into county jail on charges of attempted murder and arson, Andraychak said.
On Sunday about 12:17 p.m., officers in Bayview responded to the area of Hollister and Jennings streets where they found a screaming woman in her 20s with life-threatening burns all over her body.
Police say it was Oliver, whom she had been dating, who threw an ignitable liquid onto her body, causing the severe burns. The woman was rushed to St. Francis Hospital's Burn Center, where the she remains in critical condition.
