Andre Reid, S.F. Man, Accused of Stabbing Eric Avila to Death
San Francisco police arrested 28-year-old Andre Reid of San Francisco in![]()
connection with the murder of 52-year-old Eric Avila in the city's Potrero Hill neighborhood last week.
On Monday, Reid was spotted in the Mission District, where he was taken into custody at about 6:08 p.m. on the 2600 block of Mission Street. He 's now facing murder charges.
According to police, Avila and Reid were seen talking at 25th and Connecticut streets in the early morning hours of Dec. 30. Witnesses say they saw the suspect swing an unknown sharp object, slashing Avila in the neck.
Avila fell to the ground and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. It was the city's 68th homicide of 2012.
