Why can't people stop killing each other?
Update 8:15 a.m.: The coroner has identified the victim as 35-year-old Antione Murray.

Original story 7:22 a.m.: Medical authorities have not yet identified a man who was gunned down Friday evening in the city's Visitacion Valley neighborhood.

What we can tell you is that about 7:10 p.m., a citizen called police, saying a man had been shot on the 100 block of Blythdale Avenue near the Sunnydale Housing projects.

When the cops arrived, they found the victim in the rear of the premise with multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police have no suspect information at this time. The shooting death was the city's 64th homicide this year. On Dec. 4, Byron Beasley was killed in Hayes Valley after an unidentified suspect drove up and shot him as he stood on Grove Street.

Anyone with information is urged to contact SFPD anonymously at 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with SFPD in the field.
