They're looking for this guy
San Francisco police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a foreign exchange student as he rode Muni through downtown last month.

On Oct. 20, the 24-year-old student, who is also hearing-impaired, was on the 38-Muni line at about 5:35 p.m. when the suspect (pictured right) came up behind him and pepper-sprayed the victim. A second suspect -- later identified as 24-year-old Raheem Muhammad of Oakland -- allegedly rushed over and attempted to steal the victim's backpack, police said.

The victim was able to hold onto his bag, and both suspects got off the bus, running in different directions. Muni Task Force officers caught up with Muhammad, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. However, the second suspect is still on the loose, police said.

The second suspect is described as an African American male in his 20s, approximately 6-foot-1, weighing roughly 150 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a brown sport coat and brown pants. Security cameras on Muni captured the suspect standing on the bus prior to the robbery, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Muni Task Force at 832-8338, the Anonymous Tip Line at 575-4444, or to use Text-a-Tip at TIP411, beginning the message with "SFPD."
