Puppy Stolen From SPCA Found, Woman Arrested

Krista Maloney tells us that on Nov. 2, an SF SPCA employee spotted Violet with a woman on Market Street near Guerrero. He called the police, who saved the puppy and arrested the woman on suspicion of drug possession and parole violation.

It's still not clear whether the woman -- whose name has not been released -- stole the puppy or later acquired her, so dognapping charges have not been filed at this time, according to the SPCA.
The San Francisco Police Department is investigating the case. Meanwhile, the SPCA is celebrating this great find.
"The microchip scan has confirmed that Violet is the dog who was stolen from us," said Jason Walthall, SF SPCA co-president. "We are overjoyed that Violet is safe and happy. We are very grateful to the public for their concern and vigilance, which helped us bring her home. This was a terrible crime that could have harmed Violet both physically and emotionally."
Violet has already been through enough in her short life; she was brought to the shelter as a stray after she was found abandoned in a garbage can.
But now Violet can relax and enjoy her life. Two days after she was fond, a couple adopted her and sent this family photo.

Also, the SPCA worker got the $500 reward promised for the dog's safe return. Now everyone is happy.
