Reporter disrespects one of America's most powerful elders
Upon announcing her plans to stay on as the House Minority Leader, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi's first order of business this morning was getting into it with a reporter over her age.

After the 72-year-old San Francisco Democrat ticked off all the reasons why she wants to continue her leadership position, she opened the door to questions -- and then shut it abruptly when a reporter asked whether she thought she might be keeping "younger talent" from rising in the party.

In this video, you will hear NBC's Luke Russert ask Pelosi for a response regarding talk among Democrats that her decision to stay was perhaps hurting the party. Needless to say, the question didn't go over well, with Pelosi -- or her fellow female Democrats standing around  her -- hissing and booing.

In Pelosi's defense, 70 is the new 50.

Have you ever seen an uglier group of women?

The reporter asked  a valid question so why all the stink!

I've started a petition asking that Texas be removed from the United States.  I'm tired of and annoyed with their continued veiled and not so veiled threats about wanting to secede.  They want to go - I'm willing to push them out.

Oh please, would the same reporter ask a man that same question?  Any person who has stood the up to insulting taunts by narrow minded individuals, who believe size matters, is up to the job no matter what age.

@victororvictoria Normally I'd say "no, it's the kind of sexist pig question women always get", especially because of the Republican Party's policy of viciously attacking the head Democrats simply because they're the head Democrats.

But at 72, Rep. Pelosi's old enough that maybe you can ask the question.  People asked it about John McCain when he ran for President 4 years ago at age 72, about Bob Dole and Ron Paul (who's a year older than McCain.)

On the other hand, is the question really a substitute for "Hey, can you and your progressives shut up and let a Blue Dog run the party instead?"?
