This New App Should Ease the Pain of Finding an Apartment in San Francisco

There are some 40 million families looking to rent a home in the U.S., and at times it seems like they're all competing for the same apartment you want in San Francisco.

Well, now there's Lovely, an iPhone app designed to let you beat them all to the front door. The app lets users save their search, turn it into an alert, and get notified whenever there's a new available space for rent.

Lovely's co-founder and CEO, Blake Pierson was so frustrated with his move to San Francisco (sound familiar?), that he decided to create an app that would change the apartment search process forever.

After visiting open houses and talking to renters across the city, Pierson and co-founder Doug Wormhoudt identified two major "pain" points in the housing search process: research and application.

So they decided to channel this frustration into the app that lets renters "get there first" by instantly alerting them whenever a new rental opens up. Linked to data providers across the country, Lovely also lets hopeful renters color-code their searches and allows users to create a "renter's résumé" to help with their application process.

Good luck!
