What the hell is wrong with people?
Police are investigating two separate incidents over the weekend that killed one man and left another clinging to life today.

The first crime happened on Friday at about 10:26 p.m., when police responded to a shot spotter activation on the 1000 block of Mendell. When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the chest.

Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived; however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. As of Monday morning, the Medical Examiner's Office had not identified the victim. Police have made no arrests, nor did they have any suspect description at this time.

The shooting marks the city's 59th homicide this year.

More violence occurred on Sunday morning when a man was found beaten outside a bar in the Richmond District. According to Officer Gordon Shyy, a friend found the 25-year-old man lying face-down on the ground outside a bar on the 3900 block of Geary Boulevard about 1 a.m.

His friend took him to the hospital where he's suffering from life-threatening head injuries. Witnesses told the cops the victim got jumped outside the bar by a group of men who took turns kicking him in the head.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about either case should call the anonymous tip line 575-4444 or Text-a-Tip to TIP411.
