Alex Eye Bursch, East Bay Swim Coach, Headed to Prison for Sharing Child Pornography
A former elementary school teacher and youth swim coach was sent to prison yesterday after he was found guilty of sharing child pornography images and videos. 
Alex Eye Bursch was arrested in 2010 at Los Medanos Elementary School where he was a teacher after a tip led authorities to his stash of child porn images. He was convicted on Aug. 29 after a one-day trial, where prosecutors showed evidence that proved Bursch used peer-to-peer file-sharing software to share child pornography images of prepubescent children, some involved in sadistic sex acts, according to federal prosecutors.

Bursch admitted to the cops that he used file-sharing software to download and collect child pornography. At the time of his arrest, Bursch taught elementary school in the Pittsburg School District, and was a youth swim coach.
In imposing its sentence, the court noted the large number of child pornography images in Bursch's collection, and that his child pornography included images of prepubescent children and of children involved in sadistic sex acts.
Bursch was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine. He will begin serving his nearly four-year prison sentence on Jan. 28, 2013.
