(Original story Oct. 29): Here's
Amid all the fiery World Series celebrations that took place last night/early this morning, a passionate
Officer Albie Esparza tells us they are still investigating what happened, but confirm the blaze was connected to the World Series chaos last night.
About 12:30 a.m., an 8X bus was traveling at Third and Market streets when someone on the bus started the fire. Seven passengers were on the bus at the time, and all exited the bus unscathed, said Paul Rose, spokesman for Muni.
The bus, however, was severely scathed; Rose tells us the $700,000 coach had undergone a $300,000 makeover just last year. Muni is assessing the damage to determine whether the bus can be salvaged at this point.
"I wish we were just talking about how good the Giants are," Rose said.
