What's wrong with people?
A 17-year-old girl is clinging to life today after she was brutally stabbed after a fight broke out in the Mission District last night.

Sgt. Michael Andraychak says that at about 7 p.m. police were called to the the intersection of 21st and Valencia where they found the victim bleeding on the sidewalk. The girl, who had been stabbed multiple times in the chest, was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, there was a fight involving several people on Valencia between 20th and 21st streets just before the stabbing. Police aren't yet sure if there's a connection between the two incidents; gang task force officers are investigating the crime.

Police had no suspect description at this time, however, anyone with information is asked to call Mission Police Station at 558-5400 or the Anonymous Tip Line at 575-4444, or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with "SFPD."

This is the 3rd crime in the Mission that I've read about tonight since I began looking for info on the Day of the Dead celebration. Maybe I should stay home.
