Gold Dust shines again
It's official: The Gold Dust Lounge will be shaking up cocktails again on New Year's Eve, when the historic watering hole is set to open at its new location -- with a big bash, of course.

According to Lee Houskeeper, spokesman for the bar, city supervisors signed the necessary paperwork to allow the bar to transfer its liquor license to the new Fisherman's Wharf location.

We'll drink to that!

Here's the announcement from the bar:
Good news about Monday's love fest and unanimous vote from The Board of Supervisors committee regarding the transfer of The Gold Dust's liquor license (following last month's unanimous vote from the Entertainment Commission) means the show will go on! Herb Caen's stool and the Gold Dust's canvas ceiling are being cleaned and construction on the new place starts tomorrow!
And of course, that gave local singer/songwriter Catherine Hill fodder for a new, more uplifting song about the beloved watering hole after it was booted from its Powell Street location.
