Giants Parade Is Giant
The much-anticipated Giants Parade is wending its way down Market Street, with more than 1 million onlookers squeezing in where they can fit in to get a glimpse of the World Series champs.

Crowds packed BART well before 7 a.m. and Market Street was filled with Giants fans long before the parade kicked off at 11 a.m. From what we can see, the Giants are having some fun as they travel down Market Street in their own cars. Angel Pagen has been riling up the crowd even more by getting his driver to swerve from side-to-side so he can high-five his fans.
Fans are standing on awnings, scaffolds, rooftops -- anywhere they can to participate in the second World Series parade in three years -- there's a deafening chanting of Marco Scutaro's name, and another fan, Andrea Nicole Vasquez, ran up to Pablo Sandoval and gave him a big kiss on the mouth. "We owe him so much," she says.
All of Market Street is closed for at least the next two hours, and the players are almost at the Civic Center where there will be a ceremony to honor the team.
