Police say that at 2 a.m., officers attempted to pull over a driver at Eddy and Laguna streets, but instead of stopping, the driver sped off south on Laguna Street. While fleeing from the cops, suspects inside the car fired shots at the officers, said Sgt. Michael Andraychak.
The vehicle blew through a red light at the intersection of Eddy and Franklin streets and was hit by a taxi. After the crash, the suspects hopped out of the car and tried to run off.
The cops chased after them, and caught up with two of the suspects, who were arrested. A third suspect is still on the lam, Andraychak says.
The cab driver has some minor injuries, but is expected to be just fine. No officers were injured.
Police are looking for that third suspect and asks anyone with information to contact SFPD at 575-4444, or Text-a-Tip to TIP411 with SFPD in the message.
