What's wrong with people?
A 33-year-old man is clinging to life today after he was violently stabbed while standing on the sidewalk in the city's Mission District.

Police had very few details about the crime, but said officers were called to 22nd and Bartlett streets about 6 p.m. on Wednesday on reports of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found the victim on the sidewalk with a stab wound to the left side of his chest.

The suspect -- who was only described as a man in his 30s -- ran off after the stabbing and has not been arrested.

Earlier this week, a 27-year-old woman was stabbed repeatedly as she sat inside her parked car on 21st and Shotwell streets in the Mission. The woman did not know the three men who reportedly hopped in the back seat of her car and attacked her. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening wounds.
