Why can't people stop killing each other?
San Francisco police arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Demariee Lewis over the weekend.

On Saturday, just after 1:30 a.m., Bayview police officers got a call about shots fired on the unit block of Osceola Lane. When they arrived, they found Richmond resident Lewis with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

By Sunday, homicide investigators had tracked down the teen who they say pulled the trigger. The suspect, whose name is not being released because he is a minor, was booked into Juvenile Justice Center.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Sgt. William Braconi or Sgt. Gary Watts at the Homicide Detail at 553-1145, or contact the anonymous tip line at 575-4444. You can also Text-a-Tip by dialing Tip411.

Let's hope the suspect was remanded to his guardian's custody.
