Ed Lee Word Clouds -- Our Mayor at His Most Readable

A few years back, we stumbled across the wonderful world of Wordle, which allows people to feed favorite bits of literature into a computer program that transforms them into "Word Cloud" artwork.

Here's the word cloud for John Updike's "Hub Fans Bid Kid Adieu," for example. And here's the cloud for the King James edition of the Book of Genesis.

Since this wonderful site makes even the dullest and most onerous of literary works into beautiful displays, we figured it was a natural for Mayor Ed Lee's Examiner column. And we were not mistaken. Here, for example, is his latest work of literary Sominex, "Investing in City's Future Starts at Ballot Box" (you can click on all of these images to see larger versions of the art):

And here's Lee's much misunderstood masterwork "Yacht Race, Opportunity, Sailing In."

And, finally, here's the artwork to go along with Lee's recipe for a vat of poongaloong:

Enjoy it ... the artwork, that is -- not the poongaloong, or similarly appealing writing.
