Woman Refuses to Let Go of Cell Phone During Robbery, Gets Dragged by Bandit
| Distracted cell phone users have no clue what is going on |
On Wednesday, a 24-year-old woman was at a Muni stop in the Richmond District, using her phone, when a man ran up to her and snatched her cherished gadget.
But he didn't exactly make a fast getaway.
The woman, with a grip of steel, refused to let go of the cell phone and was dragged by the suspect for nearly half a block to the corner of Boswell and Geary Boulevard before she "lost control," said Officer Gordon Shyy.
"She was pushed by the suspect and she fell." Shyy said.
The suspect, who was only described as a man in his 20s, ran north on Boswell; the woman chased after him, but lost sight of the man after a few blocks.
The victim wasn't too hurt, but she does have to go buy a new phone now -- and that's painful.
