Car Gets Sandwiched Between Muni Vehicles; Three Hurt
| We're usually stuck on Muni not in between Muni |
According to Paul Rose, spokesman for Muni, about 12:15 p.m., a streetcar was traveling at First and Market streets when the operator hit a car in front of the streetcar. The impact caused that car to slam into a trolley bus in front of it.
Two passengers in the car were hurt, as was one passenger in the streetcar. All three were taken to San Francisco General Hospital with minor injures, Rose told us.
The F line was being turned around in both directions at the intersection while crews cleared the accident, which was done by 1:44 p.m.
Rose said he doesn't know what caused the streetcar to hit the vehicle in front, but noted that the operator did hit the emergency break, trying to avoid hitting it.
"We are investigating what took place, and why," Rose said.
