Six years ago exactly, 17-year-old Aubrey Abrakasa was gunned down in the city's NOPA neighborhood. Police have yet to find his killer, but hope the anniversary of his death will spark new leads in this cold case.

Investigators today released Abrakasa's photo with information about his death, and told the public that the Mayor's Office has authorized a $250,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for his murder.

On Aug. 14, 2006, Abrakasa was shot multiple times in broad daylight at the intersection of Grove and Baker streets. His mother, Paulette Brown, has remained a "tireless advocate" for both her son as well as other murder victims, said Officer Carlos Manfredi.

Tomorrow at 3:14 p.m -- the exact time her son was murdered -- Brown will revisit the intersection of Grove and Baker streets where she will hand out flyers and answer questions about his death.

Investigators with the SFPD Homicide Detail will also be there to talk to the public about the cold case murder.

Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD Homicide Detail or call the
anonymous tip line at 575-4444. You can also text a tip to TIP411.
