Update July 11: Police say the 19-year-old took himself to the hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Original story July 10: Police are headed to the scene of a shooting that just occurred outside Philz Coffee on 24th and Folsom streets in the city's Mission District.

Officer Carlos Manfredi had very little information at this time, but told us that the victim was a Latino man, and the suspect was a black man. Officers are on their way to the hospital to determine the victim's condition.

Twitter user Jesse_Hirsch tweeted the following: "Round of gunshots right outside Philz on 24th. Everyone dived under tables, owner locked front door."

We placed a call to Philz Coffee, but employees there said they could not answer any questions at this time.

We'll update you as the story unfolds. Check back for more details.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Oakland crime was also an amazing anomaly? I mean really, San Francisco gentrification should be the end goal of the entire Bay Area.

I find it interesting that the media and public treat violent crime in SF as amazing anomalies but treat violent crime here in the East Bay with an attitude of "well, it IS Oakland...."
