San Francisco police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a black pickup truck that allegedly smashed into a biker pedaling near the Panhandle neighborhood this weekend.

According to police reports, the cyclist was riding northbound on the 200 block of Masonic Avenue just before 2 a.m. on Sunday when a driver in a black pickup with a camper shell was seen weaving between lanes.

The driver hit the cyclist, then sped off, police said.
The victim, a 23-year-old female, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a head injury. Police said she is expected to survive.

No details on the suspect other than he is a really bad driver.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at 575-4444 or Text-a-Tip to TIP411.

Good guess that an erratic driver at 2am just left a local bar. Cops should start checking surveillance video for the bars a couple of miles up the road from that site. Of course, the cops will rarely do serious leg work when the victim is a bicyclist.
