Ermias Kassaye Homicide: SFPD Say Shooting May Have Been Case of Mistaken Identity
| SFPD |
Police are looking for a 6-foot black man between the ages of 16 and 25, with a thin build and long dreads (past his shoulders). He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with a colorful design on the front. He was armed with a 9mm semi-automatic gun.
Kassaye was walking from the BART station just after 1 a.m. on June 28 when he was shot in the head, execution-style. Police say it might have been an attempted robbery, or a case of mistaken identity in a gang-related crime.
After the shooting, the suspect was seen getting into the back of a four-door, silver or gold, 1995-2005 Pontiac Grand Am. The car was last seen headed northbound on Louisburg.
A darker SUV was seen following the suspect's vehicle, police said.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call Inspector John Cagney at 734-3181, or on his cell at 525-2277. You can also call the SFPD tip line at 575-4444.Follow us on Twitter at @SFWeekly and @TheSnitchSF
