Clerks gone wild at City Hall
A senior clerk at City Hall was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of physically attacking her co-worker after the two women got into an argument, authorities said.

Renee Craig, 50, was charged with battery about 9:25 a.m. after police were alerted to a disturbance on the second floor of City Hall. Craig, a senior clerk typist, earns $51,619 annually, was cited and released at 3:11 p.m. yesterday.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken away in an ambulance, said Susan Fahey, spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Department.

Clerks wouldn't talk to the press, but City Hall insiders told SF Weekly that despite Craig's "odd personality," people seemed surprised to hear she's suspected of assault.

Others claimed she always "had an edge to her" and was known to file complaints about her working environment.

"She was relegated to minor duties and had little interaction with the public," a source told us. "The last couple of years she seemed a little different."

Exactly what does her annual salary have to do with this?
