Asshole opens fire in the Mission
While everyone's nerves are still rattled over the Colorado theater massacre, a masked gunman reportedly opened fire in broad daylight in the city's Mission District yesterday.

Officer Albie Esparza tells us that quite a few people called police around 2 p.m. to report the shooting; they all claimed that man wearing a black mask and sunglasses opened fire on the corner of Alabama and 24th streets.

The man fired between seven and 10 shots before running off toward Harrison Street, Espaza says.

Thankfully, nobody was injured. However, that doesn't comfort us much.

"It's certainly disturbing when you have someone opening fire in broad daylight on city streets," Esparza told SF Weekly.

It certainly is. No word on how crowded the street was at the time, nor whether the shooter was aiming for someone in particular, or if he felt inspired by James Holmes, the 24-year-old who is accused of opening fire during the midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, killing 12 and injuring 58.

"It's pretty busy in the Mission, especially on a nice day," Esparza says.

Scary.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the SFPD's anonymous tip line at 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.

Whose in charge of our nations public safety,  is it Mr and Mrs American Voter or the lobbyist for the NRA?  Sadly, the definition of lobbyist is our nations elected politicians.
