San Francisco police tracked down and arrested a 16-year-old boy who they say shot another teen last week, leaving him in critical condition.

Sgt. Michael Andraychak told reporters that the boy was arrested on Sunday afternoon in connection with a shooting at the Alice Griffith public housing complex in San Francisco's Bayview District last Wednesday night. Police would not release the suspect's name since he is a juvenile.

The shooting occurred at about 10:15 p.m. on the unit block of Nichols Way. Two suspects were seen entering an abandoned building in the neighborhood after the shooting; however, police were unable to locate them at the time.

Two days after that shooting, a 22-year-old man was killed on the same block. Officer Albie Esparza tells us there's no reason to believe at this time the two shootings are connected. In that incident, Henry Tautolo was gunned down near the housing projects. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died.

Anyone with information about the homicide is encouraged to call SFPD's anonymous tip line at 575-4444, or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
