Google Attempts to Teach Everyone on the Planet That Being Gay Is Not a Crime

Hey homophobes, here's one more big corporation for you to boycott.

Today is the day that Google launches its much-talked-about campaign, "Legalize Love." We know what you are thinking -- what do those geeks in Silicon Valley know about love?

Turns out, those nerds know a hell of a lot more about love than people in Poland, which doesn't even recognize gay couples, and Singapore, where certain sex acts that we won't mention here are considered criminal.

Here's what Google had to say about its international love fest:

Though our business and employees are located in offices around the world, our policies on non-discrimination are universal throughout Google. We are proud to be recognised as a leader in LGBT inclusion efforts, but there is still a long way to go to achieve full equality. Legalise Love is our call to decriminalise homosexuality and eliminate homophobia around the world.

Before you start thinking that this is just a PR stunt, Google does have a lengthy history of being nice to gays. Here's some examples:

In 2012, more than 1,500 Googlers marched in Pride Celebrations across the globe.

In Sydney, the company hosted two Queer Thinking seminars on Activism in the Internet Age and Queer Careers.

In scary Singapore, Google is sponsoring the Pink Dot celebration, aka the freedom to love.

Google sponsored the production of Stonewall's latest Workplace Guide Global Working: Supporting LGB Staff Overseas.

And our personal favorite, the Gay Google Doodle that stared every closeted Republican in the face after they typed the word "gay" into their search bar during pride last year.

So where exactly does this leave homophobes? Bing?
