Gold Dust Lounge Is Looking Really Sad on Powell Street

As of late, the vibe on Powell Street hasn't really been the same for us locals who frequented the Gold Dust Lounge as part of our San Francisco staycations.
And here's why: We came across this depressing photo, which shows an empty and lifeless Gold Dust Lounge.
But don't get emo just yet. The good news is that all the familiar fixtures that you see missing from this photo will be at the new Gold Dust Lounge on Fisherman's Wharf.
No word on when the new location, 165 Jefferson St., will be open for business, says Lee Houskeeper, spokesman for the bar. The owners are awaiting their liquor license, which could take up to two months.
"We don't expect any problems and are planning a big New Year's party that will include horse drawn wagons and buggies to and from Union Square," Houskeeper tells us. "Gold Dust Lounge Facebook friends will get the first shot at free tickets in September."
So be patient. There will be a second (drink) coming.
