Sierra LaMar Disturbing Facebook Message Is a Hoax
| Crazy! |
The Facebook update, which police have confirmed is a hoax, had an Instagram photo of the missing teen with the following message:
"please call police he's coming back." It also listed a Saratoga address.
The message, which was a screenshot from Facebook that was then posted on the girl's Instagram account, obviously created a great deal of fear among teens who are following LaMar on the photo-sharing application.
NBC reports that police have spent the morning investigating the eerie post and the location, but it has led to no new information in this case.
It's not the first time the missing teen's social media account was hacked. Two months ago, someone broke into her Twitter account, and several other fake profiles have been created since LaMar went missing on March 16.
Investigators resume their search today for the girl's body in the nearby Chesbro Reservoir.
