Horrible Mother Headed to Prison After Allegedly Trying to Sell Her Baby at Walmart

Categories: WTF?
Meth doesn't foster good maternal instincts
There are some really bad mothers out there -- and then there's Samantha Tomasini, the Salinas woman who supposedly tried to trade her baby for some petty cash outside a Walmart two years ago.

The twentysomething mother has now been handed four years behind bars after she and her boyfriend allegedly asked to women to buy her 8-month-old daughter for $25.

Her boyfriend, Patrick Fousek, told the judge he was only joking when the couple tried to make the gross transaction. Although the baby-selling accusations were never proven, Tomasin, who had pleaded no contest to the child endangerment charges, was given probation along with a drug treatment program. But she asked the judge to send her to prison instead because she knew she would violate her probation terms, the Monterey Herald reports.

Of course, the judge wasn't going to argue with Tomasini, who admitted her drug problems and emotional issues would get in the way of her probation terms.

Police say Tomasini and her boyfriend were high on meth when they were arrested for the alleged baby business they were running.

The infant has since been adopted.
