Mugly Is Crowned World's Ugliest Pooch

And that he did.
Judges confirmed on Friday that Mugly, an 8-year-old Chinese Crested, is anything but easy on the eyes. He beat out 28 other fugly pups at the Marin-Sonoma County Fair in Petaluma. His owner, Bev Nicholson, was pleased: Her canine won her $1,000 and a year's worth of dog cookies.
"I couldn't speak when they announced Mugly's name," Nicholson told reporters. "I didn't know which way to look. I was shaking as much as the dog."
Believe it or not, being ugly does take talent. As event organizers noted, there are minimum qualifications these pups must have in order to enter, including droopy ears and some sort of serious underbite or overbite.
It's not the first time Mugly has come out as the uncomely champ. He was already deemed the ugliest dog in the United Kingdom, making him a celebrity pup around British pubs.
If Mugly has taught us anything, it's that looks definitely can get you far in life.
